🐦🖌️🎨 Birds-maidens Alkonost and Sirin, Gamayun in Slavic mythology

Зображення
🖌️🎨 Birds-maidens Alkonost and Sirin, Gamayun in Slavic mythology Sirin is a messenger of the underworld, a bird personifying dark power, therefore depicted with a sad face and in dark tones. Alkonost is a light bird that brings happiness, depicted with multi-colored wings and a light appearance, sometimes depicted with a scroll in her hands. Gamayun is a prophetic bird. Alkonost, according to the mythology of the East Slavic peoples, is a bird Alkonost with the head and chest of a girl, sometimes depicted in a crown. 🖌️🎨 Artemisia Lomi Gentileschi (1593–1654) was an Italian Renaissance artist

Зображення
🖌️🎨 Artemisia Lomi Gentileschi (1593–1654) was an Italian Renaissance artist. Gentileschi is considered one of the most accomplished female artists of the 17th century, initially working in the style of Caravaggio. In an era when women had few opportunities to receive an art education or work as professional artists, Gentileschi became the first woman to become a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. She had an international clientele. Gentileschi worked as an émigré artist at the court of Charles I of England from 1638 to 1642, but it is believed she fled the country during the early stages of the English Civil War. Her whereabouts in subsequent years are unknown, but she reappeared in Naples in 1649. Her last known letter to one of her mentors dates from 1650 and indicates that she was still working as an artist. The artist's time of death is disputed, but her last known commission was completed in January 1654. #baroque #artist #painting #gentileschi

🇯🇵💃 Jun Takahashi, the Japanese fashion designer

Зображення
🇯🇵💃 Jun Takahashi, the Japanese fashion designer, brought a mesmerizingly enchanting atmosphere to his Undercover Spring/Summer 2024 collection, titled “Deep Fog,” at Paris Fashion Week. Set in a parking lot, the show featured a series of tulle-wrapped chandeliers lying on the floor as if they had fallen from the ceiling, creating a surreal and almost fairytale-like backdrop. Opera music accompanied the models as they walked the runway, sporting a mix of flowing monochrome outfits and neon yellow sweaters, followed by vibrant suits and coats with giant prints. A few Undercover pieces even echoed the black tulle that wrapped around the chandeliers. To close the show, Takahashi sent three glowing dresses down the Undercover runway, decorated with terrariums of roses and butterflies. Source: designboom
