🍁 Tomorrow is August – farewell to summer.👋🌻
✂️🍁Lito (Lito Leaf Art) is a renowned Japanese artist.
He creates incredibly detailed, tiny scenes, carving them with a simple scalpel from whole fallen tree leaves.
The artist took up this art in 2020 to develop concentration and cope with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
His signature technique is photographing living silhouettes against the sky, filtering sunlight through them.
Lito always begins by sketching a design on a sheet of paper with a ballpoint pen, then carefully cuts out the drawing with a scalpel.
The result is a play of light and shadow – a series of silhouettes that look like they came straight out of a children's book.
The artist carves patterns into fallen leaves, turning them into works of art. Considering the fragility of the leaves and the artist's ADHD, it's remarkable how he manages to maintain the integrity of his works while carving even the smallest details. I believe Lito's work not only demonstrates remarkable skill and patience, but also demonstrates his vivid imagination and spatial awareness.
Today, the artist's portfolio contains approximately 1,500 "drawings," and his social media following is nearly 600,000 people worldwide. Lito has also become a celebrity in his homeland—the artist is frequently invited to appear on television shows, and his work is published in local print media.
