🗿 Louis Sussmann-Hellborn (1828-1908) was a German sculptor, artist, and collector. The sweet image of Sleeping Beauty, surrounded by delicate branches of roses, rests in a luxurious marble chair, where the German sculptor Louis-Sussmann Hellborn placed her more than a hundred years ago. She studied painting on her own. Here is how Veneta tells about herself: "There was only one decent art school in Sofia. I really wanted to go there. I got a "C" on the first exam, decided that I wouldn't get in anyway at this rate, and helped all my "competitors" during the watercolor exam - I painted their works. By the way, I passed the watercolor exam with flying colors. But I was never accepted into the art school. I was upset and gave up drawing for about ten years. Specialized in genre scenes, portraits, history and religious painting. Paul de La Boulaye was the son of Eugène Georgette du Buisson de La Boulaye (1810-1888) and Adrienne de Grandorge d'Orgeville de Mesnil-Duran (1811-1859). His paternal grandfather, Jean Baptiste Georgette du Buisson (1781-1856), Vicomte de La Boulaye, was Secretary General of the Royal Household and then an active member of the civil list and deputy at the Restoration; Louis XVIII created him a hereditary viscount on January 8, 1820.
