🖌️🎨 Wonderful boxes and women's jewelry in painting

Every woman, girl, little girl has her own boxes. The principle is simple - in one favorite jewelry, in others - the rest.
If there were no boxes - jewelry was kept in a crystal vase of a sideboard, but there was a large box for needlework - there were buttons, and hooks, floss and ribbons, and many different small needlework items.
In childhood, it seemed that this was the greatest wealth.

🖌️🎨 Birds-maidens Alkonost and Sirin, Gamayun in Slavic mythology Sirin is a messenger of the underworld, a bird personifying dark power, therefore depicted with a sad face and in dark tones. Alkonost is a light bird that brings happiness, depicted with multi-colored wings and a light appearance, sometimes depicted with a scroll in her hands. Gamayun is a prophetic bird. Alkonost, according to the mythology of the East Slavic peoples, is a bird Alkonost with the head and chest of a girl, sometimes depicted in a crown. Another bird from Paradise is described together with her - Sirin, her complete opposite. Both of them have sweet, enchanting voices. 🖌️🎨 Artemisia Lomi Gentileschi (1593–1654) was an Italian Renaissance artist

Зображення
🖌️🎨 Artemisia Lomi Gentileschi (1593–1654) was an Italian Renaissance artist. Gentileschi is considered one of the most accomplished female artists of the 17th century, initially working in the style of Caravaggio. In an era when women had few opportunities to receive an art education or work as professional artists, Gentileschi became the first woman to become a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. She had an international clientele. Gentileschi worked as an émigré artist at the court of Charles I of England from 1638 to 1642, but it is believed she fled the country during the early stages of the English Civil War. Her whereabouts in subsequent years are unknown, but she reappeared in Naples in 1649. Her last known letter to one of her mentors dates from 1650 and indicates that she was still working as an artist. The artist's time of death is disputed, but her last known commission was completed in January 1654. #baroque #artist #painting #gentileschi
