His paternal grandfather, Jean Baptiste Georgette du Buisson (1781-1856), Vicomte de La Boulaye, was Secretary General of the Royal Household and then an active member of the civil list and deputy at the Restoration; Louis XVIII created him a hereditary viscount on January 8, 1820.
His maternal family was an officer family.
