Guy Buffet was born in Paris, in Montmartre.
His father often took little Guy with him to work and on the way he usually pointed out the famous Parisian restaurant La Coupole, telling him that artists often came here: Picasso, Chagall, Braque, Foujita... Perhaps since then the words Artist and Restaurant have become something inseparable for Buffet...
After his father's death in 1956, the family moved to the south and Guy entered the Toulon School of Fine Arts.
At the age of 18, already an aspiring artist, Buffet suddenly joined the French navy and went on a round-the-world trip, the impressions of which would last him a lifetime. As a result, he did not become either a sailor or a marine painter, but it was the naval authorities who were the first to recognize the talent of the young artist.
Then the artist, who had seen the world, received recognition from major corporate clients: Duty Free Shops, Aloha Airlines, InterContinental Hotels, Crystal Cruises, etc. Buffet made a huge amount of advertising. A special wine variety named Guy Buffet Cellars, popular among "French-American" artists, is dedicated to him.
Wine, restaurant, Parisian cuisine - these are the main areas of creative interests of the bon vivant artist.
