 🖌️🎨Sir Samuel Henry William Llewellyn (1858 - 1941) - English artist, portraitist, landscape painter, president of the Royal Academy from 1928 to 1938. He was awarded the King Albert Prize (Royal Society of Arts) in 1933.
67 paintings by the artist are stored in British national collections, including a portrait of the industrialist and philanthropist Sir Alexander Grant, stored at the University of Edinburgh .
In 1918, Llewellyn was awarded the title of Knight of the Royal Victorian Order and received the title of Knight Grand Cross in 1931. He was a trustee of the National Gallery, a member of the Royal West of England Academy, an honorary member of the Royal Cambrian, Scottish and Hibernian Academy, and a corresponding member of the National Academy of Design in New York. Among his foreign awards is the title of Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in the Netherlands.
