Shiori was born in the Japanese prefecture of Kagawa. She studied interior design and Japanese wood art in high school.
She also studied the history of Western art and oil painting at the Kyoto University of Arts.
Matsumoto creates paintings influenced by modern illustration and Japanese subculture.
She draws exclusively girls and young women, displaying a female perception of Eastern culture with a European touch.
She is attracted by a special world, the display of childhood dreams in illustrations.
The serious and slightly detached look of the heroines, pure oriental beauty, are beautiful.
