 🖌️🎨Artist Heinrich von Angeli (1840 - 1925) - Austrian artist, court painter, professor of the Vienna Academy.

Heinrich von Angeli was born in July 1840 in the Austrian city of Edenburg (now the city of Sopron). At the age of fourteen, he was accepted to the Vienna Academy, subsequently studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts in the workshop of Emanuel Leitze, and in Munich - took painting lessons from Karl Theodor von Piloty.

At the very beginning of his creative career, Heinrich von Angeli painted several genre paintings, which were very well received by the Austrian public and the artist "came into fashion".

After 1870, Angeli did not paint a single genre painting and directed all his efforts to painting portraits: he worked a lot at the court of the German Emperor, from Germany he moved to London, to the English court, and finished his tour in St. Petersburg, at the court of the Russian Emperor.

In 1876, Heinrich von Angeli was appointed professor at the Vienna Academy. And in 1894, one of the districts of Vienna was named in honor of the artist.

The artist died in October 1925, buried in the Central Cemetery of Vienna.
