 🖌️🎨 François Bathet (Francisco Batet Pellejero; 1921–2015) was a Spanish artist and illustrator, best known for his work on children's and young adult literature for Hachette.





















 His favorite subject is the depiction of female characters in the Art Deco style.✿
Born in Barcelona, he studied painting at the Academy of Tárrega. There he met the artist Angelina Laverña, whom he married on January 5, 1949.
He drew adventures in the comics El Coyote based on the scripts of José Mallorca until 1951.
François Bathet worked as an illustrator for various magazines (France-Soir, France Dimanche, Confidences). He then turned to illustrating young adult novels, first for Gautier-Languereau editions, then for Hachette editions (Pink Library, Green Library and Ideal-Library collections). In particular, he illustrated numerous novels by Jules Verne, as well as several classics of the adventure novel.
