V. Benediktov ⚜️🕊️Annunciation Who is this youth? In a robe of light, He shone heavenly, And, radiant, appeared To the meek virgin of Nazareth. His brow breathes joy, His speeches exude kindness, Her curls fall upon her shoulders, A wing trembles over her shoulder. Who is this? A lily-colored veil Shrouds her clear face, A reverent gaze is lowered Under her eyelashes drooping. Her hands are folded upon her chest, A quiet sigh is suppressed in her heart, Her timid ear receives the sounds: "Virgin, thy Son shall be God." This winged youth is Herald of Redemption, An angel, herald of triumph, Herald of the mystery of the Incarnation, And before him, full of humility, The Virgin—the Mother of the Divinity.
